Detailed description of the project: 
Overall objective: Empowered civil society and community of Patos & Marinez oil extracting area by fostering stakeholders dialogue and increasing awareness, thus contributing towards the Albanian journey to the EU. 
 
Specific objective: Problems of vulnerable communities of the Patos & Marinez oil extracting territories, becoming a pressure factor to impact the environmental governance and improve the missing environmental rehabilitation in the oil extracting territory of Patos-Marinza.
 
Expected outputs:
  • About 1400 local stakeholders, rural community, and vulnerable groups involved in environmental advocacy actions in Roskovec and Patos Municipalitis
  • Oil & gas extracting current environmental situation assessed through certified water, soil and air analyses, serving to the local community for asking to improve the transparence & accountability, in accordance to “Polluter pays” principle.
  • Stakeholder dialogues assisting towards the preparation of the local recommendations by the Municipalities of Roskovec and Patos, CSOs, local business, educational institutions, research groups, and other vulnerable groups.
 
This Project is under GreenAL framework, financed by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Swedish Government, and implemented by Co-PLAN – Institute for Habitat Development, CISP-Sviluppo dei Popoli, VIS Albania, and COSV-Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo. The “CSO & Community Role Empowerment in a better environment in Patos and Marinez is implemented by the EcoPartners for Sustainable Development, ‘Epoka e Re’ NGO, Agricultural University of Tirana, Polis University, and Municipalities of Roskovec & Patos.
